steak sandwich
from: the butler did it
price: free! (tech ops guys are nice!)
rating: &&&&&/&&&&&
listening to: styx
comments: great lunch. QA was stuck in the office at lunch working hard, and the tech ops guys were super nice by bringing us lunch. yay. and not just normal lunch. this delicious fancy lunch, complete with bacon salt.

and for dessert I had:

beer!
comments: what's better than a free lunch? free drinks on a boat cruise, of course! click the pics to see some boat giffin'. my camera ended up taking about 450 photos through the 3 hour tour. so I may make the biggest gif ever, or, more likely, I'll throw them into a movie. I think that may take a while, though.

comments: it was whopper wednesday. what else could I do? oh boy. you're in for a treat now, or are you? click the pic to see how Tay Zonday has sold out. I didn't know an internet celebrity could sell out. ha. but lo and behold. hey, I think I said lo and behold yesterday too.

I wanna see their faces turn to backs of heads and slowly get smaller

bagelwich and spinach salad
from: Solly's
price: $9.01
rating: &&&&.5/&&&&&
listening to: built to spill
comments: whatta good lunch. and a fine deal. when I start to relate the prices of me lunches, I realize this is about the same price of a subway. yet a sub would cower in the corner behind its chipotle sauce if it had to stand up to this lunch. maybe I should start having my lunches battle. click to get jiggy with the carwash across the street.

and I also got:

some blank dvds
comments: the interesting part of this photo is that I used this photo to aid me with my purchasing of this product. you see, I carried said DVDs all the way to the counter, and they rang them in, and it came to over $30. I was like, "er... maybe I grabbed the wrong ones" so I walked back and lo and behold, the DVDs I grabbed were the right ones, and thinking ahead, I took a very readable photo of the price sticker. when I returned to the cashier, I presented my photo and told the girl it must be in the system wrong. she agreed, and used the sku number from the photo. awesome. I'm awesome. deal with it. click to see Olympic Village's foundations.

subba
froma: subway
price: almost $8
rating: &&&/&&&&&
listening to: the cave singers
comments: sub. yeah. satisfying, but not amazing, by any means. click the pic to see an awesome photo I found on the internet. dunno if those are the real actors. it doesn't look like bruce lee, but it looks like it could be adam west and burt ward. what you think?

and christopher walken had:

dave's sub
comments: click this sub to see an oddly unsettling video of the first canadian android. why is that part of his demo? did we need to know that fembots don't like you touching their breasts? is that the same for all fembots? what about the austin powers ones? they could just shoot your hand off.

miso ramen
from: Kintaro (on Denman St.)
price: I forget. very very reasonable though, like $7?
rating: &&&&&/&&&&&
listening to: modest mouse
comments: traveled across the city for ramen lunch today. and it was well worth it. yum. so good. go there. you will like it. but go at like 11:55am. that way you will get a seat when they open at noon. in the linked gif, you will see the noodles a-boiling. they can only cook 6 at a time there. so we were lucky enough to be some of the first 6 in there. except andy. I think he was 7th. ha.

and andy and phil had:

ramen, too. quel surprise.
comments: click to see the fat squirrel that andy was rather obsessed with. I think he wanted to eat it in ramen.

from: p.hut

comments: we did some big release at work today, and were bribed with pizza to not leave during the lunchtime. food bribes almost always work on me. now click my lunch to see a very edumactional video that the artist formerly (and still) known as mark henderson sent me. nice one, mark, you have improved my american historical knowledge vastly.

and dave had:

well, the same pizza, of course.
comments: click dave's pizza to see Nikita, office dog. I had to use a flash to get a pic of her, cuz she never stops moving. and since the holiday season is coming, I think it's about time to order some lobster from Sears. yeah, you read that right.

from: work treats
rating: &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&/&&&&&
listening to: biz markie
comments: ok wow. today was actually erin's birthday, but it felt more like a birthday to all of us at navarik. because when we arrived at work on such a cold, gloomy, rainy monday morning, there were iPod touches sitting on all our desks. whoooo!! yeah!! nice one!! so yeah. it's purty darn cool. click the pic to see the engraving on the back. my first wi-fi handheld! I'm fancy now. I'll probably use it as an iPhone as well. well, that'll be my excuse when I'm caught rubbing it against my face and talking sweetly to it.

a 'greek burger'
from: La Fourchette
price: $8ish? but I was treated!
rating: &&&&/&&&&&
listening to: radiohead
comments: dave bought all of QA lunch today, or I guess the company did. however, phil didn't join us, and there were no other QAs in tha house, so it was me and dave. we tried a new place. dave was a little put off by the exterior of this place. but inside, it was nice and homey, and the food was good. I'd go again. click to see some art work I saw on the weekend at the East Side Culture crawl that Reagan keeps talking about in the comments. this art was by Mark, an Atimiite.

price: free - company treated!
rating: &&&&.5/&&&&&
listening to: U2
comments: yay! company lunch at the whip with beers a flowing. good times. good food. even though I have boycotted the whip in the past for an incident where they forced us to order food cuz they couldn't sell beer without it. lame. usually, just a menu on the table is enough? but no. anyway, this time was good. the food was good the beer was good the people all there celebrating our random work releases were good. yay. good. click to see vivian dracula in action.

I'm not sure on that. but anyway, he had coupons cut off cereal boxes that got use free little subs. they weren't very satisfying, so I also got me a little chicken. after lunch, we tried to deliver a parcel east of chinatown. and suddenly I found myself in a part of vancouver I never really been before. reagan's neighbourhood! heh. click to see the area. there's also this huge field between strathcona and the bus station. it blows my mind that it hasn't been developed. this IS vancouver, right? and the only thing keepin people outa this field is signs like this. that don't sound too bad.
