and one day the axe just fell

enchiladas
from: Mexico Rico
price: $10
rating: &&&&/&&&&&
listening to: bob dylan
comments: today, I had the pleasure of dining with two people who both own their names as domains. pretty exciting. the last time the 3 of us et together was probably 7 years ago on the roof off EAC building. crazy. this time is was mexican. and rather tasty. 'specially that mango water stuff. yum. now click my lunch to see the first glimpse we had of the baby crow out the office window. see that little pink blob? baby crow.

and Garrett had:

the tamales
comments: I didn't get ratings from these guys. but they seemed to enjoy their meals. if you click garrett's lunch, you will find a photo of him. I tweaked the photo a little so he would stand out. can you tell which one he is?

and erwin had:

4 chicken tacos
comments: we tried to convince erwin to audition for this VFS film. as garrett and I both knew we had no chance. I did offer to let erwin use my hair, but alas, no.

can't stay for long, just turn around, I'm gone again

derailer burger with fries
from: the railway club
price: $9ish?
rating: &&&&/&&&&&
listening to: the littlest hobo theme song
comments: today 3 more co-ops left us. co-ops always get to leave. maybe I should be a co-op. I guess having co-ops is a little like having the littlest hobo come 'round and help y'all out. they do all the dirty work, and barely get paid for it. ha. and when they leave, it's like the end credits of that show.. kinda sad, but also hopeful for the next software company they stumble across. anyway, since dan had the same lunch as me, you can click my lunch to see him off.

and shaun had:

the same, but with soup.

and julio had:

the california burger
julio's the only one of these 3 who's not really leaving us. we're gonna keep giving him part time work, I hear.

and I ran. I ran so far away.

sushi
it's thursday
listening to: flock of seagulls
comments: good sushi. yum. click the pic to see some interesting grafitti. you see, there's this place under the bridge downtown... there's alway a homeless guy or two setting up shop there. one is the guy who always tries to sell flowers to passing cars, maybe you know him. whenever I walk by, there seems to be a different tent or fort built. I'm not sure if they're forced to take them down and that's why they rebuild, or what? but anyway. it seems like they are now inviting others to come down and live there. wanting to be like the tent city that they had in toronto. I really can't see this one getting bigger than 2 inhabitants.

and the cake was

pie again
comments: it was nice having pie for a change. now it would be nice to have cake for a change. huh, White Pie? click this pic to see the resident of this new 'tent city' that I was speaking of earlier. here, I think he is trying to take down this street sign. perhaps for building supplies. wonder if he got it. sure was working hard at it.

beef tenderloin ravioli
from: So.cial
price: way much
rating: &&&/&&&&&
listening to: REM
comments: today we had a goodbye lunch for joel (click pic to see him) at a fancy restaurant across the road. overall, i paid lots of money for average food. and was a wee bit hungry after lunch. oh well.

and zotan had:

sausage with pasta
comments: I don't think Zed was overly impressed with his lunch, either. I know for a fact that craig was very disappointed with this dish. he said the pasta was boring, and the sausage was bland and tasteless. I have a feeling that next time we want fancy lunch, we'll go to Al Porto across the street. now click this pic to see a dog wanting to catch a goose. 2 seconds later, the goose flew away and the dog cried.

bye chuck!

3 items
from: Thai Village (at Tinseltown food court)
price: about $6
rating: &&/&&&&&
comments: as a goodbye lunch for my co-op, chuck, a bunch of us went to the Tinseltown food court. Afterall, it was taco tuesday. and I wish I had got the tacos. the thai food I had there was not very thai foody, nor was it very good. the pad thai was good, but the other items? not so good. click to see the group eating. chuck is at the end on the left.

the one that rambles on for a million miles

3 items
from: the amazing wok
price: $6.99
rating: &&&/&&&&&
listening to: Jimi
comments: the amazing wok does not make amazing honey garlic pork. no, they don't. oh well. it wasn't horrible, but that that great. click the pic to see some guy I saw parked this morning... in an open spot, but on the grass? and almost backed into a tree? and the guy was still sitting in the car. odd.

and lorelai and rory had:

burritos
from: Taco Del Mar
comments: I'm just going to assume that they liked their little baby burritos. now click the pic to see the crow that lives outside our office window. I'm guessing that s/he is sitting on some eggs. maybe they'll hatch soon

and I might be buggin' but it seemed to me that cartoon be realer than reality tv

tamales
from: Mexico Rico
rating: &&&&.4/&&&&&
listening to: danger doom with talib kweli
comments: mmm.. mexico rico is good and the mango juice/water is amazing. I didn't have any inspiration for links today, but I saw Grindhouse this weekend. props out to tarantino for creating muscle car porn like more people should be doing. so the linked vid is for those folks who were wondering why both movies in Grindhouse made reference to the Vanishing Point.

and tall kevin had:

burrito
comments: click on this lunch to see the only muscle car porn that beats the vanishing point. and the one mistake I think tarantino made was to use a black '69 charger when he could have used a '68 and payed homage to THE GREATEST CAR CHASE OF ALL TIME.

***no bonus waldos today, however... 200 points for the person who can connect the song I quoted in the title to the Grindhouse movie.***

spicy tuna and chopped scallop rolls
from: the sushi place at Pacific Centre
price: $8
rating: &&&.5/&&&&&
listening to: Tee Set
comments: decent sushi. taste very good. but a little too refrigerated. you don't want sushi to be too cold, you know? now click the pic to find waldo looking for Balfek in her office.

and edward had:

vietnamese food
comments: click this lunch to see some tulips I saw downtown. wheeeeee. spring. now the blood pressure section... note, kylee and white cake were not happy with doing their blood pressure tests nor eating at pacific centre. hence the lack of post-lunch results for them. it turns out that eating sushi lowers my blood pressure. I guess I should eat it all the time, then?

butter chicken and pallack paneer?
from: curry express
rating: &&&&/&&&&&
listening to: Prince Adam gettin' jiggy
comments: curry, yes. ok enough about food. I need to talk about Dodge now. and what giant jackasses of a company they are. perhaps you've heard me scream and rant about them making a 4-door Charger? yes. blasphemous. even though the charger was only awesome for 5 years out of the 20? years it was made. anyway. what bothers me can be seen in this linked pic. they have made a Super Bee Charger. bah! Super Bees were awesome in their day and they were based on the Coronet. and really, the new Charger? it ain't nuthin but a Coronet. They should have called it that. screw you, Dodge!

and ed had:

chinese food
comments: Ed said the Amazing Wok was not so amazing today. and click this pic to see some foolio's truck who thought he drove a Super Bee... well, ok, this isn't so bad as what Dodge has done. this is someone tweaking the Super Bee and/or Scat Pack logo to suit their truck. fair enough. still... it's a truck, man. not a Bee.
