a time to gather stones together

miso ramen
from: Menya
price: $7
rating: &&&&/&&&&&
listening to: the byrds
comments: today I met some old school webcters for lunch. craig said he had something to give me, which turned out to be this awesome shirt. robotanists are cool. click my ramen to see the 3 fellas patiently awaiting my stylish arrival.

and reagan had:

miso, too. so did greg, actually, but I didn't bother with another miso photo.
comments: good to see these guys. it'd been a while. click reagan's lunch to see ye olde firehall no. 3 show and shine in full effect.

and craig had:

the other ramen. the shoyu, but they call it something else
comments: so I couldn't help noticing that randy and chris were dressed the same today. they were good sports and posed for the linked wiggly photo. yep. chris is obviously not as good at staying perfectly still while my flash charges.

price: $8.25 for 3
rating: &&&&/&&&&&

and I didn't need:

and I am numb from watching tv

angus buger combo
from: mcdonald's
price: under $8 with a coupon
rating: &&&&/&&&&&
listening to: For Squirrels
comments: hi. click to see the roof top hatch. nothing special.

and neil had:

a stack o burgers
comments: click neil's stack to see a sign we saw. this sign has no asterisk. so, as far as truth in advertising goes, if you just march in there and demand free gas, wouldn't they have to give it to you? there's no mentioned stipulation that you have to buy a car. then again, there's no stipulation that says they can't just give you 2 ml of gas. or take a swig of gas and spray it in your face. or simply fart at you. so really, it's probably best to avoid the whole place.

and remick had:

some dodgy looking fruit.
comments: click remick's fruit to see andy's new helmet that I think he's already ready to return.

she stole my karma, oh no

sushi
from: ichbankan express
price: $975
rating: &&&&/&&&&&
listening to: kings of leon
comments: I went all the way to ichbankan today, cuz I had to go to futureshop and return that underwater camera. it just didn't take geed enough photos. for $200, sure. but not for the $350 that it cost me (with an XD card and tax). click to see the bobcat again from the job site next door. and all the work they did today.

and andy had:

korma (that he made)
comments: I was at my parents' tonight, and my dad was showing me these newspapers (the News Herald, and the Vancouver Daily Province) that he had found from 1949 and 1950. very cool stuff to look at. click andy's lunch to see an airplane. or you can buy a car? or an apartment in kits or a house like greg chan's. it was also interesting to see the long gone sections in the classifieds and to know that comics like herman and mary worth have been around for soooooo long. what I learned is that the real estate market should have a "hey it's 1950 prices today!" sale for me. do it. dooo it. (of course the papers did not have that nice white colour. they were much much yellower.)

and I think my spaceship knows which way to go

bacon cheeseboigah
from: triple o's
price: free!
rating: &&&&/&&&&&
listening to: natalie merchant covering bowie
comments: quite kindly, our dev manager guy bought the dev team (yes, this includes QA!) lunch today at white spot. we sat out in the sun, thinking this may be one of the last times to do such a thing this year. sad. click to see noel and his shake shaking.

and sumant had:

a chicken burger
comments: click to see the dev team eating in the sunshine. the best part of that gif is sumant and his mad mastications.

and peter the pigeon had:

bits of burger bun off my shoe
comments: the stupidity of pigeons make them quite awesome. this little dude was eating fries outa my hands while the seagulls and crows skulked and yelled from a safe distance. click to see peter in all his glory.

and I did not eat:

white rabbit candies
comments: if you're like me, and rarely follow the news, here's an article that explains why I'm not eating the melamine 'enhanced' candies today. this is the only time dave's had such candies in his jar, and this is the time they are POISSON! er... poison.

from: the bulter did it
price: $9ish
rating: &&&&/&&&&&
listening to: okkervil river
comments: steak. yum. click to see a comparison gif I made of the view from the roof in january. and the view from today. crazy. 8 months of construction can be A LOT.

and teo had:

the same, but with caesar
comments: this weekend I went to whytecliff park. click to see the whyte islet all wiggly.

and dana had:

the same as teo
comments: the reason I went to whytecliff was to see if there was anywhere good to try the underwater camera. it was difficult, but I managed to snap a few boring shots. click dana's lunch for such a shot. or here's some snails. overall, I think it's best to NOT buy an underwater camera as summer ends. it's just illogical.

cham-pon ramen
from: Menya
price: $8.90
rating: &&&.5/&&&&&
listening to: morcheeba
comments: went for ramen again today. much later, so no line up. I tried the cham-pon which has seafood and all sortsa stuff in it. however, I didn't find it as tasty as just the regular ramen. next time, miso ramen! I got no wiggly pics to look at today. if you click my lunch you will see a photo from the office, last year, sept 19th. know what special day that was?? get your eyepatches out!! it's that time again! arrrrrrrrrrr!

and darren had:

pastrami on rye and spinach salad
from: Solly's
price: $12.34
rating: &&&.5/&&&&&
listening to: the beyattles
comments: we tried to go for ramen today. fail. there was a line up. just a couple weeks of being open and that place already has queues. bah. so we went to solly's and listened to andy complain that his sandwich and salad cost him over $12. mine was not as good as usual. oh well. click to see our office from a random rooftop that we got to after lunch (7th and Manitoba).

vietnamese subs
from: Ba Le
price: $8.25 (for 3)ls are a bit confusing. the battery life is short. I might have to return it.
rating: &&&&/&&&&&
listening to: hunters and collectors
comments: odd gif, no? that wiggly look warbley? there's a good reason for that. I bought another camera. this one, can go in water. fun! that's how I took this sandwich pic. click to see a dumb limo driver blocking my walking path. grrr.

and the camera had:

a glass of water.
comments: click the camera to see what it sees. the linked image is a bunch of portraits I did of office peeps whilst the camera was submerged in teh glass of water. other than the water-thing, this camera is not that great. the quality of the images is average to below average. and the controalthough, going into water, and snow, and being allowed to be dropped are very good options. hmm... not enough wiggly for you? there's always tons more on my flickr

Andy was being a food snob and says it doesn't compare with the ramen places downtown on Denman. alas, I disagree. I liked it a lot. we'll be going there lots in the future, methinks. hope it doesn't get to busy. click to see a pic of the restaurant. not sure what Zartan was doing there, but I figured it best to just take my photos and leave quickly.
