samwich and chick pea salad
from: the salty tongue (in gastown)
price: $9ish
rating: &&&.5/&&&&&
listening to: steve earle
comments: tried a new place for lunch. well new for me. this place is attached to the Irish Heather. it's not bad. they could do with heating stuff a bit more than they do, though. the cheese in my sandwich wasn't even melted. the salad was a bit plain, but ok. I'll probably go back. click my lunch to see a very long shovel. I know you can't tell from that angle, but I think the handle was about 6'-8' long.

and bill had:

the quiche
comments: this was also not heated enough. in the afternoon today, there was lotsa rain, and rainbows. so of course, we had to go on the roof to look at it. click to see a wiggly of it from the roof. oh... but looking at that gif closer, you might notice what this seagull did to the rainbow. gross! sick! and worse yet, check out what bill did with the 'bow after. gross. oh well. he seemed pretty happy about the whole thing.

comments: my first time to the HAVE cafe. and by jove, I'll be going back! tasty food, decent prices, big portions and nice people. I like it. the reason I quote manfactory today is not just because I listen to it most every day. I got my cd in the mail today! yay! then I'm all like... ok, a cd.. what do I do with this thing?? the best part was this note they included with the disc. funny. now click my lunch to see the workplace of a long-time LATV viewer's wife. long-time? forever time, more like. I bet he's never missed a post!

and bill had:

le rating: &&&&/&&&&&
ecoute de: the beatles
les commentes: ok, the truth is that I had to stop listening to the new street fighter album just to find another song quote with "love" in it. ok, now back to man factory. I met bill for lunch today. he is equally stoked to listen to Round Two. my lunch was pretty good. I really only ordered it because of the name of the dish. but bill's mac and cheese looked better. next time... now click to see a funny sign in a window that reads, "raymond moved please do not disturb tenant". I'm thinking maybe raymond was a drug dealer?

listening to: the torch relay make its way around our city
comments: so, today I heard all this noise outside, yelling, sirens, honking, and I poked my head out my door and realized this was the olympic torch relay. so I look it up on their map to find that it was going down victoria drive. victoria drive!!! I live just west of main, and I could hear victoria drive! crazy. so, looking at the map, I found that they'd be going by queen e park eventually. a quick shower, I hoofed it over there. just in time. not a minute too soon. click my lunch to see the torch. or you can see the non stop dancers or the crowd at 37th and main.
