comments: one thing about our new office. you never know where you will see alexg working. you just turn a corner and bam! there he is. anytime. anywhere. go alex.

and someone else had:

that
comments:  today is my nephew's 13th birthday. happy birthday, stu!  I link to a wiggly of him four years ago. meanwhile, 4 months ago he's all like.

when everybody lunches you, son, that's just about as funky as you can be

laksa and gyoza
from: Toko
price: about $10
rating: &&&&.4/&&&&&
listening to: counting crows
comments: I hadn't been to Toko in probably 15 years. crazy. I thought it was japanese food. but it turns out it's got foods from all over asia.  the variety is insane. and it was delicious. the laksa wasn't quite cafe-deelite-delicious, but it was damn good. looking forward to going back often.

and bill had:

veggie chow mein
comments: click bill's lunch to see him and paul hanging out at Sepi's birthday desk. this was just seconds before they knocked both those trees over.

and ken had:

curry with fancy tea
comments: oh yeah. they also have a very big tea menu. overall, this place is great.

oh drink a bit of wine we both might go tomorrow, oh my lunch

singapore laksa
from: fresh bowl
price: $10
rating: &&&.5/&&&&&
listening to: jeff buckley
comments: finally tried this Fresh Bowl that everyone's been talking about. our experience was ... meh. I mean it was good. but I'd heard too much hype and expected better. the laksa, for example... it was good. it was passable. but it didn't come close to Cafe Delite or even the old Mamak that was in Afro. it was just kinda bland. oh well, I'll just have to try a couple other menu items, I guess. in the meantime, click it to see bill sitting at this place and trying to hypnotize you.

and david had:

prawn samba
comments: this was a spicy little number. not too spicy, but spicy. but much more importantly, was how david punched bill in the face later. with. a. muffin. yeah. click. go see. awesome. that linked gif was the closest to real time, I think. if you wanna see the full huge gif in slow motion, you can

and bill had:

laska, too
comments: click bill's lunch to see him galavanting. I assume this is what galavanting is, since I'm not sure if I've ever really seen it. check that coffee. so close to spillage. but I know what you're thinking... the muffin punch was so much better. I know it was. that's why I made 1, 2, 3 more variations of it.

I lunch music, any kind of music

laksa
from: mamak malaysian cafe (inside afro canadian)
price: $7.50
rating: &&&&.5/&&&&&
listening to: the o'jays
comments: today I finally tried the other half of the afro canadian restaurant. yeah, there's a malaysian restaurant right inside it. and it's good. real good. I was sadden that they were out of roti cannai, though. oh well. this was tasty laksa. click to see the air full of blossoms at the skytrain station.

and bill had:

taste of africa
comments: for some reason, bill's lunch had no rice today. no matter, it was still enough food, says he. now you will click his lunch to see him getting happy.

and richerd had:

taste of africa, too
comments: in a coincidental sequence of events, richerd ended up having lunch with us. although, I think he was legally blind. or maybe not. but he'd had lasers shot into his eyes that morning. click his lunch to see him. what do you reckon he looks like? a blind man? a thief? a gangster? or an elf trying to blend into city life (note the wagging tail. do elves have tails)?

what we need is lunch, to guide and protect us on

hainanese chicken laksa
from: cafe deelite
price: $9ish
rating: &&&&&/&&&&&
listening to: bob marley
comments: I took a miniweekend today, since I worked monday. erin and I used her magic free pass to go to the macmillian bloedel conservatory at queen elizabeth park. that place is awesome. if you're ever looking for something to do on a gross rainy day, go there. it's small, but you can sit on benches and hang with some crazy birds. we even had quite the conversation with this african grey.

and erin had:

hainanese chicken
comments: you may have noticed that all the pictures today have a similar tilt-shiftiness to them. the reason for that is that I wasn't carrying a camera today!! zoiks! true story. now, with my crappy cam on my new ipod, I don't need to carry a cam. and I will be playing with all the free camera apps I can get my hands on. this tiltshift one is my favourite so far. click to see a wiggly plant.

chicken laksa
from: Cafe D'Lite
price: $7?
rating: &&&&/&&&&&
listening to: the greatest Street Fighter II Rock Opera I ever heard!
comments: the great cafe d'lite fiasco. that's what today was. ok, maybe it was a bit far to go to. but so tasty. yum. click to see where dave will be eating lunch soon.

and and had:

hiannese chicken noodle soup
comments: click andy's lunch to see Hemi. his eyes. stare at them. once you are hypnotized, send me moneys.

and remick had:

some veggie dish.
comments: click remick's lunch to see the future home of foosclub. what's the first rule of foosclub??
