the big apple bites back
ny street meat (hot dogs)
from: this guy
price: $1.50 (for the pictured dog)
rating: &&&.5/&&&&&
comment: good for the price, but not an amazing hot dog. we had other hotdogs later from another vendor. not nearly as good at this one. and if you click the pic, you will see that we ventured onto the NY subway system. NY is very big and there's too much to see in 2 days. ack.
and for dinner I had:
porkchop with onion and mashed potatoes
from: Jones cafe on Great Jones road in Noho
price: $14.95
comments: this was a damn good pork chop. damn good. and there was salad, too. overall a great meal for very weary travelers. we had spent all day walking and subwaying our way around the city and we were beat. and if you click the pic, you will see that Melvin Peterson had a very hard time hailing a cab in Times Square.
bad news for bucket... by the time we got here it was closed. :( no shirt. sorry. I failed my mission.

I expect a "best-porkchop-of-north-america-2005" review when you get back that settles for once and for all where to get the best porkchop on your road trip.
this was it. hands down, best pork chop in any restaurant I've ever had.
